QE2 held us back from being a true luxury brand, so says Peter Shanks, the UK Chief Commercial Officer. 

What an IDIOT.  When watching him at the QE2's final departure from Southampton, one could tell that he utterly didn't understand the ship, what she had been, what she was, and why thousands upon thousands of people had turned out in the cold to say goodbye, why millions had been spent by people wishing to travel on her in her last year, and why so many people, all over the world loved her.

Is the Queen Victoria more luxurious?  Well that depends on how you define luxury.  But in her heyday, QE2 was the most luxurious ship IN THE WORLD.  The Queen Victoria is just one of many near identical cruise boxes with differering decor.

He didn't 'get it' but millions of repeat passengers on the beloved QE2 completely did.  Maybe looking back, in 2 years time, when cunard is no more, he'll understand.
